Logs, October 13

Very strange conditions tonight.  Signals faded in early, and kept improving until about 2000, then started to fade completely.  By 2100 (local sunset), 48 m was almost completely dead here, the same as in Europe!  Very unusual.

Despite the variable conditions, I was amazed to hear 4 new stations, Readymix, Luxemburg, Klabautermann and Zomerzon!  Great signals form Boomi and Undercover, as always.

6289,9 . . 1748 . Mazda Radio, very weak music and talk at fade in, strongest signal on the band at this very early time (over 3 hours before local sunset),  ID via Iann’s chat.

6450,7 . . 1801 . Radio Readymix, polkas and talk, 24341 at tune in, up to 33442 at 1906 with ID, c/d 2027, returned after 2100, but the band had died by this time

6299,6 . . 1818 . Bogusman Radio, short talk and a few seconds of music, then c/d, 23441, ute QRM

6280,0 . . 1825 . Radio Boomerang, “Moonlight Shadow”,  ID, 35443, great signal

6294,4 . . 1848 . Radio Luxemburg, jingle ID, instrumental polka, occasional loud ute QRM, 23442

6241,0 . . 1908 . Radio Klabautermann, “Don’t You Forget About Me”, talk but a little too weak to copy, “Glory Days”, ID via Iann’s chat, 24341

6240,0 . . 1926 . Radio Zomerzon, Klabautermann faded out, and a Dutch station on 6240 faded in, polkas and talk, possibly greetings, ID via Iann’s chat, 24331, faded to carrier only after 10 minutes, and did not return

6265,7 . . 2030 . UNID, very weak music, just at noise level, faded to carrier level around 2045

6325,0 . . 2043 . Delta Radio (WB), ID, “Under Pressure”, “Radio Gaga”, 24341

6540,0 . . 2113 . Radio Powerliner Int., weak music with ssb QRM.  Was on past 0000, but conditions had become very poor, and no details recorded.  ID via Iann’s chat

6925,0u . 2126 . Undercover Radio (US), Dr. Benway with talk about freedom, 45443

Cheers, Terry
